First of all, I can't get over those chairs- amazing!!! Secondly, not sure about the floorboards- I tend to think of it more of a cottagy thing but it works really really well in this room so sorry, I'm of no help.
No I agree! I don't think I've ever seen such "polished floorboards" on a ceiling especially in such a traditional space.
I tend to associate wood board ceilings with rustic or scandinavian looks...
I think it looks really good in this space but I'm not sure I would want it in my house - I'm afraid it would darken the room a lot and make the ceilings look lower than they actually are!
