The Good
1- Rosy nude and airy aloe. What a brilliant blend of colours!
2- I LOVED the interview with Kriste Michelini where she talked about how she became an interior designer and how she successfully manages a business, a blog, 3 kids and regular exercising. How does she do it all? Anyway, she gives great tips on time management and working with clients. A really good read!
3- Kevin Reilly Lighting: I have been looking for that exact pendant EVERYWHERE! And here it is, in Rue's fourth issue. I am obsessed with it and I'm also a little bit afraid to find out the price because it's most likely VERY out of my price range.. But it would look so great above our dining room table!
4- At first glance, I really wasn't a fan of this Laura Ashley circus. But then I thought - how cool would it be to soak in that tub! Light up a few candles and it's like the grown-up equivalent of a tree house or a tent.
5- How cool is Kate Spade's new line of bedding? Not that you'd expect anything less from her...
The Bad
I may not be a DIY queen, but the homemade sunburst mirror made out of corrugated cardboard and ping pong balls really appeal to me. I mean I'd be a really nice project for a kids birthday party but then again, it wouldn't really go anywhere but in a kids room.
The Ugly
I'm a little sick of the whole english cottage look but this is just taking it too far. A giant dolls house? A headboard about 2 feet to wide for the bed? A bedskirt about 6 inches too long? Something just screams lack of styling in this picture...

In other words...
I was so pleasantly surprised that Rue featured Murray Salt in their Cooking section. Salt from the Murray River in South Australia looks like miniature pink crystals and insanely pretty. It's sold in supermarkets here and it's the only salt I buy.

I love that bathroom with the girly wallpaper and spooky portrait- really love. I haven't seen the issue yet but I agree with everything you said- that bedroom is just very odd...don't get it at all. Great review!
ReplyDeleteThanks Christine - love the bathroom too - could totally see myself spending hours in that bath!
