I have been waiting a long time to say this: Our tickets to Paris are finally booked!! M and I are spending the month of June in France with my family and I don't think I've ever looked forward to anything as much as this!! It will have been 11 months since I last saw my mom and it is LONG overdue!
First, I am off to the bookstore to get myself a copy of the new Kathryn Ireland book to read on the looooong flight over (about 30 hours from Adelaide).
What will we do in France you ask? Why let me show you!
Week 1: M and I are landing in Paris and staying in the city for a short day or two. We're then making our way south-west to spend the rest of the week. Our good friends are generously letting us stay at their parents' holiday house near Carcassonne - we couldn't be more lucky!!! Since we have a nice house to stay in, we will be renting a car and making little day trips around the south east of France and the north of Spain. Places of interest: Barcelona, Biarritz, and Bilbao for the famous Guggenheim museum!
Week 2: We are off to the other side of the south of France to Cap d'Antibes where we will be staying with my family. Cap d'Antibes is halfway between Nice and Cannes! It's also 20 minutes from Monaco, 2 hours from Geneva and 3:30 hours to Milan!!
Week 3: We are heading up Provence and Luberon and staying with friends of the family who live in a château surrounded by vignobles! Could one dream of anything better??
Week 4: On the last week, the boys are returning home early, which means I have 5 days in Paris with mom for a pure shopping extravaganza!
Why am I telling you all this? Well because I will need your expertise to help me find where to shop (especially for homewares!!), where to eat and where to stay! I cannot wait to soak it all in and I hope my suitcase won't bust open on the way back to Australia!

J-E-A-L-O-U-S!
ReplyDeleteSounds absolutely amazing and I sure hope you will have a fabulous time! Sometimes I think the anticipation and planning is {almost} as wonderful as the actual travel and adventure bit - so I hope you have great fun in the next couple of months in researching all the shops and restaurants.
What a wonderful trip you have ahead of you...
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!
I wish I could be of any help- I was in France for my honeymoon but it's all a total blurr of fabulous at this point. Your trip sounds beyond amazing and I can't wait to see all of your photos. And ps, I'm insanely jealous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies! I am ridiculously anticipating and I'll make sure to take thousands of photos to share (PS - I'm usually really bad at picture taking so this will be a real challenge!)
