1st (design) Class: Le Sueur Interiors

It's time for another 1st (design) Class, in which my favorite bloggers will get to share their favorite trend, classic, designer, room and design rule. All in the hope to shed some light on the nebulous world of interior design!
This week I'm over the moon to welcome the talented Meg from Le Sueur Interiors. Meg is an interior designer and and owner of Le Sueur Interiors shop. She and I have loads in common like our love of French, our Cajun roots (Acadian in my case - same same but different), and our Aussie boyfriends (or husband) - so it comes as no surprise that our tastes are also freakishly similar. Meg's blog is stunning and her banter is always delightful. If you haven't already checked it out you must to it now!
1. One trend - Ethnic textiles: ikat, suzani, batik - I love it all!

2. One classic - Persian rugs: I'll never live in a home without them, they even belong in bathrooms!

3. One designer - I really admire Colin Foggo of Belle Interiors out of Christchurch, New Zealand. I worked for Colin and learned so much from his approach to design. This is his amazing beach house in Kaiteriteri, New Zealand. http://www.belleinteriors.co.nz/

4. One room - John Dransfield & Geoffrey Ross's kitchen is just one of my favorites. It's so causal and comfortable. I love everything about it.

5. One design rule - Make sure your home reflects you. There is nothing worse than a room without personality. Trust your instincts and buy what you love, not just what looks good on page 62 of the catalogue you received in the mail.

Thanks so much for participating Meg!

PS - If you have a blog and wish to participate to this series, drop me a line! I would love to hear from you.
