Traveling Toes: Cap d'Antibes

One of my biggest highlights of the trip, was our week in Cap d'Antibes, France.

Cap d'Antibes is located halfway between Nice and Cannes, and is home to many celebrities (Tom Cruise, Paris Hilton, Leonardo Dicaprio, you get the picture...) during the Cannes Festival, thanks to the famous Eden Roc Hotel.

If you've ever been on the French Riviera in the midst of summer, you must be aware that it includes impossible traffic jams, waiting lines and streets, restaurants and beaches packed with people. But, Cap d'Antibes (affectionately named "the Cap") is a haven of tranquility in the craziness that is a summer on the Cote d'Azur.

We had the luxury of staying in a beautiful villa - and after a few attempts at sightseeing trips in the surrounding cities, we resumed to hanging out at the villa, the pool, the gorgeous french food bought at the local markets, and in the beautiful company of my family.

We had a blast: long afternoons by the pool, fun games of petanque or cards late afternoon, dinner parties... The whole thing could not have been more idyllic! Matt went for long iron-man runs up and down the steep hills, mom and I went for long walks around the cape's cliffs, a few others had long lazy naps every afternoon. It was paradise. I could have stayed there a whole year.
