Traveling Toes: The Milestone Hotel, London

A few years ago, I spent a week in London with my mom. I love traveling with her. We love the same shopping, food, and we both love a bit of pampering!

It was January and although a bit chilly, it was mild compared to the bone shivering Canadian cold! What made it even better is that I stayed in the most delightfully charming English hotel called the The Milestone.

The Milestone is located right opposite Kensington Gardens and they allocate 3 staff for every one guest which means the service is PRISTINE. In fact, the year we were there, they were ranked No.1 in the world for service by Travel and Leisure Magazine.

Their style is definitely quirky and quaint. It might not be everyone's cup of tea but it's definitely good fun and delightfully English.

I got a little bit addicted on the daily homemade treats they left on our bed and their delicious raspberry martinis.

And, because I was jetlagged beyond belief (it was my first European trip), I mostly stayed up all night in their library reading so I can say even the night service was amazing!

In keeping in line with English tradition, we had high-tea at the Milestone which was sublime although probably more fit for 10 people rather than two.

They had pianists playing in the library most nights and most of them were good (there was one strange female vocalist and pianist in the lot).

Each room is individually designed. We had a little suite with balcony which was perfect and beautiful!

Basically, this post is just to say, if you're ever in London, check out the Milestone Hotel, even if it's just for an afternoon high-tea!

  2. So Chic. I've never heard of Milestone. I'm partial to the Sofitel St James but this might be a good option considering they were ranked # 1 for service. Impressive- thanks for sharing!

  4. Tobe: Yes I did, especially at night! I was unable to go to sleep until 5am every night so I'd go down to the library or the conservatory, order some tea and cookies and just read by the fire... Was awesome.

Sarah Roads: At least go for high tea or dinner when in London next. It's in a great area too!

Victoria: You have to go! London is so beautiful. The architecture alone will blow your mind!
