Trending: Beautiful Shagreen

If you read interior design blogs, you have seen this word buzzing around. But what is shagreen?

Shagreen is a type of leather or rawhide consisting of rough untanned skin commonly made of the skins of sharks and rays (thank you Wikipedia)! It's typically used to cover anything from furniture, lighting, mirrors, homewares and other accessories, or even walls!

Fun fact: because shagreen is typically made from the skin of sharks and rays, it’s impervious to stains and water. Perfect for nightstands, side tables and anywhere else you might pop a glass of water or drink on. No more need for coasters!
