Delightful Weekly: Outdoors Edition

This Saturday, an exterior fit for a princess. Pretty fitting don't you think?

Speaking of which, did you watch the royal wedding last night? I watched with a few girlfriends, champagne, chocolate and a couple of gourmet pizzas. Mmmm. How stunningly gorgeous was she?

I had been predicting lace and a v-neck collar. I must admit I was expecting a shorter train and less puffy skirt but it grew on me in the end.

Poor thing looked so nervous at the start of the ceremony, bored towards the end (weren't we all?) but then came out of the private chapel with her signature million-dollar smile. Definitely princess material!

On another note, William was balder than ever...

Friday Fix Royal Edition: A Little Sheep

What does Kate Middleton's last single-girl night and blogland have in common? They are both accented with sheep. Yes, sheep!

As most of you would know, Kate Middleton and her entourage is spending her last night as a single girl at The Goring Hotel (also voted best city hotel in the world!) - a short stroll from the Buckingham Palace.

But what you might not know, is that The Goring Hotel is filled with wooden sheep stools - just like the ones that have been popping up everywhere in blogland lately! Have a look:

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: High Gloss April-May

Weeks have been so busy, I haven't had time to look at the newest High Gloss until recently!

I must say this issue hasn't blown me away... But it did have a few yummy interiors.

The Good:

1- Pops of Purple: I didn't love all the rooms of this pied-a-terre but these two vignettes are really gorgeous.

2- Beautiful neutral bedroom: So calming and elegant.

3- Eclectic Art: I really wasn't a fan of that whole house (see Ugly below) but I really enjoyed the artwork in these two photos and how it blends well with the surroundings.

4- Black kitchen: I LOVE this kitchen! Everything about it. Especially the shelves. It's dramatic and vibrant and all around amazing.

5- Relaxing retreat:  I really hate buddha heads. But I love the rest. The ivy growing on the distressed fence, the colour of the water, the pink accent cushions.

The Bad: Déjà-vu
Don't get me wrong, I'm ALL for Diane Von Furstenberg and Jen Ramos. In fact, I really admire them both. But seeing them featured in a mag for, respectively, their-not-so-new-anymore collection and their lovely-but-featured-a-million-times home is not really the novelty I expect from magazines, even online ones.

The Ugly: Hot Mess
Is it just me, or are these two photos below a couple of hot messes?

Your turn now.

House Crush: Real Estate Stalking the Melbourne Beach Suburbs

I was doing a little bit of stalking on the RealEstate.com.au app today as we were driving past the beautiful inner city beach suburbs of Melbourne.

While it wouldn't be my first choice of house, I really love how they turned an ordinary bungalow into something really stylish with a monochromatic palette. And in Melbourne where the prices are soaring, this is a pretty good alternative I reckon.

Category: Mildly achievable, but even more-so if you buy a rundown version and do the work yourself!

Premise: 4 bedroom + Studio + 3 Carparks bungalow. A short 4 min stroll to the beach and about 20 minutes out of the city centre.

The bedroom is my favorite. The floors are sublime, and so is that wall of wardrobes.

What do you all think? Pretty good or not so much?

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly: Matchbook Issue 3

Too many online mags these days...

Matchbook is slowly growing on me, after a first issue that left me completely unimpressed. So let's cut to the chase!

The Good:

1. The Editor's wish list: Can I get every single item mailed to me before my France trip? Thank you!

2. The Bahamas Meets New York: I dig it.

3. Some seriously good bookshelving!

4. I want to look like this when I grow up.
I have absolutely no clue whether this woman is a grandma, but if she was, she'd undeniably be the coolest looking grandma on the block.

The Bad:
Still wayyyyy too much text for my taste. I'm sure it's all very interesting, but who has time to read it all? Has anyone read every word of the issue front to back?

If you have please do share and I'll take my comment right back!

The Ugly:
Uhhhhm grandma, who's hands are these under the bell jar? Creepy...
