So after much soul-searching, countless talks friends and family (and a few mini panic-attacks) I've decided leave my job in the corporate world to study an Graduate Business Diploma in E-Commerce (insert total panic/excitement here)! Studying an business full-time will give me the skills (and free time) I need to launch a successful business in the next few years. Not to mention more time to dedicate to the blog!
Here's the twist. After much research (I'll spare you the details) I've decided that this goal I have set for myself is only really viable if I relocate to Montreal (students fees are 1/10th of the price - yep, you read correctly)! Do you see where this is going? Dear readers, I'm taking a leap of faith and relocating back all the way to beautiful Montreal at the end of the month!
It's been a very bitter-sweet decision to pick up my life in gorgeous Adelaide, leave my loved ones, my beautiful house, the beach and the sunshine... On the one hand I have my very happy, very fulfilled, very comfortable life here - and on the other I have the scary/exciting prospect of really pushing my career forward. There's been a lot of heartache in the last month, but I am finally starting to slowly come around to this scary decision! There's no denying that these are exciting times: new opportunities, a new place to decorate (hello blank slate!) and of course being close to family and friends makes me very blessed and happy. Being back on North-American soil also means lots of travel and blogger meet-ups (hello Blogfest 2012 and weekends trips to the Hamptons, Toronto, Palm Beach, San Francisco and, why not, Paris)!
So with this all this blabbing... I have three weeks left in Australia. I am spending two days in Melbourne at the end of the month with my dear friend Alex, and then officially flying off to Montreal! There are a million things to do. A million people to see. A million goodbyes to make. A million tears to shed...
Whew! Are you still with me? As exciting as this all is, I'm not pretending this will be easy. I'm also not pretending to have it all figured out. I know I have many challenges ahead of me, but I'm determined to really focus on what I want out of life. My resolutions and mantra for 2012 are resonating stronger now than ever. I'm not one to talk about myself too much normally, but sometimes I think it's important to get real in blogland. We don't all live picture-perfect lives. We sometimes have difficult decisions to make. Sometimes our life calls for something new, and we have to embrace it with both arms and jump in with both feet. I have all of you to thank for all the support, and for giving me the confidence to take this leap of faith. I will try to keep it real as much as possible on the blog, and keep you updated every step of the way. After all, most of us are here to figure out how to get the most out of life aren't we?
I hope you will follow me on this new adventure!
