You guys, I can't tell you how excited I am about the long weekend. Even though I normally work 7 days a week AND I'm finishing graduate school so it won't really be a long weekend, I'm allowing myself to disconnect for two full days while I celebrate Easter in the country with my family. This never happens. We'll see if I succeed.
I love this time of year because despite the few nasty surprises (snowstorms), it's genuinely starting to feel and smell like spring. This week, I pulled out my spring jacket and shoes (not boots) for the first time in 6 months, I opened my windows to let some fresh air in (without freezing to death after an hour), I even spent a day in my shorts (indoors of course). I'm slowly getting back into running and it's making me feel positively giddy.
Here are a few links for your long weekend reading.
Mark D. Sikes talked about my favorite bedroom of all times on Paloma's blog.
Erin added a new piece of real estate to my dream homes list.
Becca launched a stunning line of pillows and art.
Loved this talk between Lynn and Leandra.
Molly shared refreshing blogging wisdom.
Sarah shared a few wise words.
Have a cheery long weekend!

Easter has me thinking about the ultimate gathering space: the dining room. Maybe it's the coming of Spring or Easter influences, but when I decided to share a dining room before this weekend's celebrations this soft pink dining room by Celerie Kemble immediately came to mind.
I have a love/hate relationship with dining rooms. They often look awkward and empty when not well proportioned, while they should be inviting and comfortable. They should inspire conversation and exchange.
I think this dining room achieves exactly that, and I'm sharing 10 reasons why on Damask & Dentelle today.

From top to bottom: Ace Hotel & Pool Club | Viceroy Santa Monica | Huckleberry | Cecconi's | Hollywood At Home | Harbinger LA | Thompson Hotel | Soho House
Now onto a bit of storytelling. After my fabulous brunch with Alex at Huckleberry, my friend Sabrina and I stayed at the Ace Hotel & Pool Club in Palm Springs the first two days: the perfect spot to unwind and get into vacation mode by drinking margaritas by the pool and eating their delicious fish tacos.
Then, it was back to LA for the Design Bloggers' Conference, where we roomed with the lovely Sam of The Peak of Très Chic. We hit it off famously. I couldn't have asked for a better roomy! Highlights of the conference included meeting Jeffrey Alan Marks and Ross Cassidy (we were majorly starstruck), as well as some really great sessions by Barbara Barry and Windsor Smith.
At night we kept busy with fun dinners; one with Irene, Arianna and Erin at The Eveleigh, and the second graciously hosted by the lovely girls from Lulu & Georgia at Cecconi's. I got to see Irene again (she's a hoot!), and catch up with my buddy Erika! On the last night of the conference Sam, Courtney of Crane & Canopy and I attended a fun party at one of my favorite shops Harbinger LA. Finally, my girlfriend Sabrina and I finished our LA trip in style at the Thompson Hotel in Beverly Hills with a special invite to Soho House!
Now the million dollar question: would I go back to the Design Bloggers Conference? After Blogfest last year, this was my second blogger's conference and I found it to be VERY repetitive, so probably not. That being said, the networking is fantastic and I loved meeting great people like Sam, Sara, Alexa, Michaela, Irene, Courtney, Arianna and Erin, as well as seeing the lovely Erika again! If I had to do it again, I'd definitely coordinate my trip with the conference, but maybe skip on the actual conference and just visit showrooms or sightsee instead.
Catch my NoCal recap on the blog next week for the San Francisco / Napa portion of our trip!

The next few weeks are about to get positively insane as I enter the end of semester craze so this week I tried to enjoy a few last moments of freedom: I enjoyed brunching with friends last weekend, I babysitted the world's most adorable pup and I went for what will surely be my last snowboard ride of the season. Luckily we had pretty great conditions. And now, I'll try to enjoy my weekend and not get sucked in to mountains of work.
Here are some fun links for your weekend reading:
I'll be spending most of my weekend working but I (not so) secretly wish I was spending it at home, like Grace.
I'm not usually one to talk weddings, but Bailey shared one that's positively crazy, quirky and fun.
Bradley found the best pair of vintage chairs and the makeover is worth a gander!
I'm pretty obsessed with these Big Blooms photographs that Katie shared.
Lindsay gave great tips on styling a table.
Anna came back in full force.
Have a good one!

This week's unexpected snowstorm here in Montreal (we got 30cm of snow in two days) has sent me right back into hibernation mode, allowing me to dream one last time about cozy reading and movie watching spaces before the warm air comes around again.
There's something majestic about having a "library" at home, but it doesn't have to be an unattainable goal. Sometimes, it just means turning that home office/second bedroom into a space that feels like a library, to leisurely use when guests aren't around.
Visit Damask & Dentelle for my 10 tips on achieving a double-purpose library at home.

Last week I had the great pleasure of staying in Napa with one of my favorite interior designers, Rela Gleason who lives in one of my favorite homes. During my stay, Rela mentioned that the house of a dear friend Jeffry Wiseman and his partner Andrew Fisher of Fisher Wiseman was featured in the latest Architectural Digest.
Rela and her husband had spent a wonderful vacation at their house in San Miguel in Mexico and she had nothing but great things to say about it, so of course I had to grab a copy of AD at the airport for my trip back.
I'll tell you one thing: I was expecting great things, but I wasn't expecting this! Fisher trained with none other than Tony Duquette, and you can see the influence in the rich jewel toned velvet and the dramatic flair.
Fisher Wiseman are releasing their first book, Artful Decorations tomorrow March 19, and if their house is any indication, I urge you to pre-order on Amazon!
In the meantime, you can admire the masterpiece that is their house in San Miguel on Architectural Digest.

I can't even begin to tell you what a fantastic time I had in California these past two weeks and I'm sure you're looking forward to a real recap, but I have a million things to catch up on so it will have to wait until next week.
Coming back from a wonderful vacation is always a little underwhelming. This time, I came back to stacks of mail, mountains of work, cold, rainy and wet weather, and to top it all off, the end of Google Reader. Say what? They may as well have announced the end of Gmail.
This begs the question: how will you be keeping up with blogs now? Bloglovin has a widget that will import your Google Reader list. Maybe it's the way to go? If you haven't done so already, follow my blog with Bloglovin.
Here are a few great links to cheer us up!
Nicole shared inspiring black & white portraits of St Barths. Wouldn't they make great supersized artwork?
Naomi gave us a sneak peek of her living room in progress and I'm already loving it!
Have you even seen Steve Hutt's photography? No? Head to Tobe's blog now.
Erin revealed her little man's nursery. Two words: holy cuteness.
Gaby discovered Erin Tyner's Etsy Shop. Preach.
Happy weekend everybody!

Oh Lake Bell, isn't she gorgeous? She's got legs to last for days! And if you haven't yet seen her home that was featured in APT with LSD a few months back, you may be about to get even more jealous!
Her living room more specifically caught my eye months ago, and I'm not sure why I've waited so long to feature it, but today I'm sharing 10 things that make this room work on Damask & Dentelle.
Hop over to Damask & Dentelle to see more of the room and to find out my tips for recreating the look.

I'm back from California kids! We had a truly amazing time and I'll be sharing a recap soon but for now I have a million and one things to catch up on, so I leave you with an outfit post (probably the only one I'll ever publish), shot by Michaela at the Design Bloggers Conference. I normally look super awkward on camera, but Michaela's talents knows no bounds and the shots came out great, so I needed to share them with you.
You can also check out the shots I took of her super cute outfit on her blog (and enter her giveaway)! I love how the shots came out even though I had no experience with her camera, which pretty much convinced me that I need to invest in a good camera myself.
What I was wearing: J.Crew Toothpick jean in Garment-Dyed Twill (on super sale!) | Zara White Peplum Top (similar here) | DVF Opal Wedge Sandals | French Connection Leopard Belt (similar here) | Michael Kors Tortoiseshell Watch | Kate Spade Desrt Stone Necklace (similar here) | Michael Kors Hamilton Tote | NARS Schlap Semi Matte Lipstick
Back to regular programming tomorrow!

I'm not exactly sure how to describe this style. It's feminine, it's boho, it's classic, it's neo-traditional, it's worldly, and everything in between. It basically combines everything I love but most importantly, it's well layered.
Read my tips for achieving the coherent eclectic look in your home on Damask & Dentelle.
PS: I'm clocking off early to enjoy my last few days in the sun! See you back here bright and early on Monday!

I'm super excited to be guest posting on Michaela's blog today talking about things I love (and a few things I love a little less). I met Michaela at the Design Bloggers Conference during my trip here in LA and she is the loveliest, most positive and best dressed blogger around. She's currently studying interior design full-time while taking on e-design clients and working for one of my favorite brands Lulu & Georgia.
She was too kind to suggest we take a few fun photos of my outfit yesterday. They came out so well that I'm granting you with one only outfit post next week. Stay tuned. You can sneak a peek on my Instagram.
Head over to Michaela's blog for the full post.

Since I'm in California this week, I thought it would be the perfect time to channel a little bohemian chic on Houzz this month. Infused with a little rustic, a little spanish colonial, a little moroccan, a little french antiques and lots of colorful fabrics like suzanis and paisley prints, boho chic decor is perfect for a home with a relaxed atmosphere. Think of it as channelling Kathryn Ireland.
See all my boho chic product picks on Houzz.

As you're reading, I'm probably lounging by this pool at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club, or maybe taking one of their complimentary restorative yoga classes. These truly are the moments I live for.
I'm enjoying my first few days in California, so I'll keep it brief. I had a very lovely brunch yesterday at Huckleberry with Alex of Bungalux. It was SO great to finally put a face to the name. If you ever need a real estate agent in the Silverlake to Santa Monica area, she's your gal!
Here are a few links for your weekend!
Alex announced that Ari Gold's house is for sale. Ok so the decor is hideous, but it has ENORMOUS potential!
Tobe shared John Legend's house. Seems we share the same taste in music and houses. Swoon.
Arianna shared ideas for an organized workspace.
Sarah is making us want to escape to Hawaii.
Lastly, I'm in love. With Lucy.
Have a sunny weekend everyone!
